Joining Engineer – Body in White
CDS Recruitment and Training Ltd have an international client that require highly skilled and experienced Joining Engineers for a initial 6 month contract – and up to 2 years.
The work is related to a 2 year BODY IN WHITE – AUTOMATION PRODUCTION LINE within the Halewood Jaguar LandRover site.
We are recruiting 5 Joining Engineers with SPR, RSW and sealing technology experience.
This role is inside IR35 ONLY – with a UMBRELLA RATE OF £25 – £35 PER HOUR DEPENDING UPON EXPERIENCE. 50 hours per week on average. Extra rate for contractors outside of the area.

ROLE Joining Engineer
Achievement of the welding, rivetting, studding and sealing quality aimed at the process / product in compliance with the technical / economic specifications
lFollow the continuous improvement of the equipment for the optimization of the spot welding, Rivetting and sealer processes
RESPONSIBILITIES / OUTPUT
Knowledge of engineering project data and customer technical specifications relating to the project on which it operates
Programming of technological parameters and configuration Welding timer, Tucker rivetting, SCA sealer and Tucker stud and point alignment with robot program.
Verification of welding gun, Rivetting gun, Sealer doser and application calibration values and their periodic management.
Electrode dressing configuration and management. And all service applications within the technologies stated.
Development of technological parameters and their optimization to achieve welding quality in compliance with the specific project specifications.
Electrode/Nozzle life optimization and quality management with self-adaptive program.
Certification of the quality of the welding points through the ultrasonic instrument.
Management of saving programs and documentation to be delivered to the customer with execution of the SLOW BUILD.
Compliance and knowledge of JLR specifications and commodity application approval processes
ORGANIZATION
The role report to: Report to Commodity Leader, Site Manager and Customer.
Interfaces (roles): Commodity Leader, mechanical fitters, laser trackers, software and robot programmers, Site Manager
REQUESTED ATTITUDES & SKILLS
Convenience in the analysis and search for solutions for the errors detected during the welding process.
Practicality on the execution of tests for checking the quality of the welding points.
Convenience in the preparation and updating the welding documentation of the customers.
Basic knowledge of the use of robots installed on production lines on which will have to carry out the activities: ABB; KUKA; FANUC; Other.
Capacity to optimize the welding parameters according the results of the destructive and non-destructive quality tests.
Knowledge to settings various type of the flow-meters.
Practicality for optimization the dressing programs.
