Business Manager – Supply Chain Manager
CDS Recruitment are looking for a Business Manager for an international chemical waste company.
The role would benefit from applicants with a working knowledge of hazardous chemicals, Comah flammable or dangerous bulk chemicals and storage.
We have been asked to network with candidates that have an integration experience and be able to understand the business and its shape.
The role will be managing the outsourced fleet as well as approximately 30 vehicles working for and 60 vehicles for Healthcare division and would be expected to create processes and KPi’s which work for the business.
Candidates will have experience of some compliance exposure as all logistics fall under this but change management is more important to our client.
It is not expected that applicant have a logistics background but do have to have industrial or manufacturing experience.
Change Management is key to the success of the right candidate and we are looking to find people who demonstrable experience as well as an ability to talk through this at interview.
Candidates must have experience running a £20m+ operation and be an influencer, that is able to move around the business and in those roles have examples of project work they have undertaken.
The role will be a homebased role (ideally based somewhere in the North Yorkshire or other) and will need to be visible to other UK sites.
The role is not a stereo typical Logistics Manager role, it is more thought of as a supply chain manager role. The position will focus on continuous improvement projects identify and achieve cost saving initiatives that will impact positively upon the EBITDA performance of CDS Recruitments client UK.
Within one of the objectives the opportunity will responsible for improving our cost base and efficiencies
Ensure that we meet the expectations of our internal and external customers
Effective people management skills, managing teams across multi-site locations
Identify training needs and ensure staff are given the necessary training to carry out their duties
Provide a monthly report to the Business Services Director including Cost analysis, projects, CAPEX, OTIF & vehicle replacement plan
What will really stand out on a CV (As well as the above) will be technology advancement work as well as LEAN/SIX SIGMA work, to get the right connection candidates will be asked about projects and what you have achieved, not what the team did.
Other Essential Skills:
Excellent Knowledge of hazardous transport operations
IT literate, particularly Excel (Intermediate)
IOSH or NEBOSH
Lean or Six Sigma
Supply Chain Management
This role will be a two-stage interview process, and we are looking to source the right person as soon as possible.
